HIS HOLINESS ARAM I RECEIVES THE AMBASSADOR OF GREECE

The newly appointed Ambassador of Greece to Lebanon, H.E. Panos
Kalogeropoulos paid his first official visit to His Holiness Aram I on March
22, briefly after assuming his new position.

The Pontiff and the Greek diplomat met for over an hour discussing the
local and regional political situation, as well as recent developments in
the international arena regarding the peace process in the Middle East.

The Catholicos and his guest also spoke about the centuries-old
relationship between the Armenian and Greek Orthodox Churches. They talked
about His Holiness' Pontifical visit and his brotherly ties with Archbishop
Christodoulos, the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece. They also touched on
His Holiness' lecture in the University of Athens, which Archbishop
    Christodoulos had attended.

The Armenian Spiritual Leader grabbed the opportunity to explain to the
Greek Ambassador the structure of the Armenian Church, the Catholicosate of
Cilicia's multi-faceted mission through its dioceses spread throughout the
world, as well as the inter-faith dialogue organized by the Catholicosate
    through his personal efforts.
