MHP's Bahceli: I won't allow Erdogan to set up Baathist regime
Speaking at an Istanbul meeting of the nationalist-leaning MHP Party
yesterday, Devlet Bahceli, the general leader of the MHP, said that
under the leadership of the ruling AKP, Turkey's national unity,
national economy, as well as domestic and international welfare were
all under threat.
Bahceli said: "In the last years, national matters such as Cyprus,
the EU, Iraq, the struggle against terror, the Turkmens, the
so-called Armenian genocide, these have all failed before our very
eyes. And the political result of the government's position, which
lies between gaffes and treason, is a reawakening of separationist
movements." Bahceli also warned that Prime Minister Recep Tayyip
Erdogan was trying to interfere with the Turkish justice system to
set up a "Baathist" style regime.
