WORKERS OF MILL WENT ON PROTEST

The workers of Mill went on a protest in front of the government on
    May 3.

They demand their salaries since September. "Every time the owner
of Mill and the bread factory Movses Sahakyan says the salaries will
be later. Are they fooling us? Every time they say the problem will
be solved in a week. Now a month has already passed," says one of
the protestors. "10 of our workers rent apartments. I already owe
200 thousand drams for the apartment. What shall I do?" asked a
woman to the minister of territorial administration and development
of infrastructures Armo Tsatryan who met with the protestors. The
minister told them he had talked to Movses Sahakyan the day before
who told him that he would pay part of the salaries within this week
and pay the debts by the end of May. "If the company were owned by
the government, the problems would have been solved. But this is a
private company so the solution is delayed," said the minister. He
also said the owner makes promises but does not keep them.

"The Office of Prosecutor General deals with this problem. The guilty
will be punished but it will not solve your problems. The bank will
not lend money to a company which already owes 400 million," said
Armo Tsatryan. The workers of the mill say they will stand in front
of the government until they bring Movses Sahakyan to meet with them.
