"THERE IS NO OTHER THING TO DO IN ARMENIA TODAY BUT TO PRESENT IMPEACHMENT TO AUHTORITIES," IMPEACHMENT ALLIANCE STATES

YEREVAN, MAY 10, NOYAN TAPAN. It was again re-affirmed at the joint
mass meeting organized on May 9 by the Hanrapetutiun (Republic) and Nor
Zhamanakner (New Times) parties and the Impeachment alliance that the
only goal of those political forces is power shift. "There is today
no other thing to do in Armenia, but to present impeachment to the
authorities, for all those forces which are really anxious about our
country's future," Vahagn Khachatrian, a member of the Impeachment
alliance, former Yerevan Mayor stated, adding that "we have no other
thing to do at the coming National Asseembly."
In the opinion of Mikayel Hayrapetian, the Chairman of the Conservative
Party, for the Shoushi liberation "we are obliged to soldiers and
commanders one of which, Zhirayr Sefilian, is in isolation cell
today, Samvel Babayan was in the prison of Shoushi, liberated with
his participation: "lickspittle" heads of the present authorities
must be there instead of them and the others."
According to M. Hayrapetian's characterization, during the recent
eight years the authorities did their best for the pointer of hatred
of the citizens of Armenia is directed from them towards the citizens
of Artsakh.
Touching upon the pre-electoral campaign, V. Kachatrian expressed a
confidence that in the case of the Central Electoral Commission's not
being bribed, at least two parties, the Republican Party of Armenia and
the Bargavach Hayastan (Prosperous Armenia) party were to be taken out
of the electoral lists still at this pre-electoral stage. Reasoning the
said, the speaker mentioned the inadmissible expenses carried out by
those parties, the created atmosphere of fear, very extended searches.
At the end of the mass meeting of many thousands, the participants
organized a march through the central streets of Yerevan, pronouncing
syllable by syllable the following: "Impeachment," "No to robotization,
no to stupidness, no to sergeantization." Cars being used for the
pre-electoral propaganda mission by other political forces were running
in the same streets. Joyful music was heard from the loud-speakers
placed on them.
The next mass meeting of the Impeachment alliance will take place on
May 13, in Azatutiun (Liberty) square.
