Armenian opposition says election proceeds quietly
    12.05.2007 14:06 GMT+04:00

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ `If the election is held without violations
Orinats Yerkir party will occupy a weighty position in the
parliament,' leader of Orinats Yerkir opposition party, former NA
speaker Artur Baghdassaryan told reporters May 12.

`Several alerts were received via the OY hotline by 10
a.m. Unauthorized use of the election committee's seal and loss of
100 ballot papers was fixed in Dilijan,' he said. `After the
election we will make a corresponding statement. We call on all not to
coerce the voters, especially as the authorities exercised absolute
privileges since the start of the election campaign,' Baghdassaryan
said adding that on the whole the election proceeds well. ` 6
thousand of our empowered persons watch the election,' he said.

Another opposition leader, chairman of National Unity party Artashes
Geghamyan told reporters he came to the polling station in a good mood
and voiced hope that the election won't be marred, IA Regnum
    reports.
