COOPERATION WITH RUSSIA AND NO ALTERNATIVE

`It is not necessary to remain complementary, since complementarity,
under present conditions, can not ensure the realization of foreign
political aims of Armenia. Under conditions of dynamically developing
system complementarity doesn't simply manage to make a counterbalance
against those phenomena', orientalist Ruben Safrastyan announced at
today's press conference, speaking about settlement of foreign policy
challenges of our country. R. Safrastyan believes that today our
country should clarify its foreign policy and strengthen the
cooperation with ally Russia. According to orientalist, there is no
    other choice to make.

Cooperation and establishment of relations with Turkey and Azerbaijan
mean contribution to the fulfillment of their requirements, which is
not advantageous for our country. R. Safrastyan emphasized that
cooperation with the West must not be understood as synonym to `good
life'. The foreign policy challenges of our country connected with
worldwide and regional developments gradually decrease - the USA-Iran,
the USA-Russia possible conflicts and, as a result, destabilization of
our region, Turkey-Azerbaijan-Georgia as yet the economical
    cooperation.

The mentioned cooperation may transform and become a political
cooperation, as a result of which we'll appear in isolation. Georgia's
possible membership of NATO, recognition of Armenian genocide,
Karabakh conflict settlement and so on; according to orientalist, we
we'll be able to confront to all these only by strategic and allied
cooperation with Russia which is `one of the strongest aspects of our
    country'.
