NAGORNO-KARABAKH REPUBLIC: PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE
    Norair Hovsepian

Azat Artsakh Daily, Republic of Nagorno Karabakh [NKR]
    21 May 07

In June 2006 an international conference entitled "Nagorno-Karabakh
Republic: Past, Present and Future" was held, dwelling on the history,
culture, economy and other related issues aiming at raising the world's
awareness of the history and convey the truth to the generations,
runs the statement of the participants of the conference from NKR,
Armenia, Russia, the United States, France, Italy. This passage
opens the book of reports made during the conference, which are
divided into a few groups: history, culture, political science,
economy, etc.. Valery Khachatrian's "Artsakh in Cuneiform Writings
of Urartu", Melanie Balayan's "The Armenian Albanian Catholicosate
in the 15th Century" Aldo Ferrari's "Raffi and the Armenian Nobility
of Karabakh", as well as a number of other articles give an idea of
separate periods of the history of Artsakh. Most articles included
in the selection dwell on the Karabakh issue, the origin and the
ongoing period. Parallels are drawn with other Armenian territories,
which had the same fate as Karabakh, such as in Ashot Melkonian's
    article entitled "Artsakh-Javakheti: Historical Parallels".
