    "JESUS CHRIST IS OUR TRUTH"

    Reminded His Holiness Aram I

His Holiness Aram I presided over the Holy Mass conducted in the Saint
Karasnits Mangants Mother Church in Aleppo on May 20 and delivered a sermon
to a large number of faithful.

During his sermon, the Pontiff talked about the concept of truth, briefly
reviewing the views of several philosophers, theologians and scholars on
this issue. He said that the history of humankind is a search for the truth.
The Catholicos considered truth to be a system of values and principles that
gives character and purpose to human life.

"In human's search for truth, Jesus came to say that He is the truth.

The Pontiff stressed that it is the Church's calling to be the defender
and preacher of truth. He said that the Armenian Church has carried out this
mission with great responsibility, becoming a champion and protector of the
truth and today more than ever, it continues on the path of that mission.

Speaking about the current state of the Armenian nation, His Holiness said
there was a backlash in moral values. "All those values that form the core
of Christian faith are often found on the margins of our community life. Our
immediate gain and pleasure are most often considered above values and
principles, which were introduced to the world through Jesus Christ as
absolute truth. We should look to Christ. He is the source of truth. We
should not look for truth elsewhere. Being a true Christian means accepting
Jesus as the truth of our life," the Catholicos said.

After the Holy Mass, the faithful approached the Pontiff and kissed his
    right hand, receiving his blessings.
