KHOSROV HARUTIUNYAN IS CONTENT WITH PARLIAMENT CONFIGURATION

Khosrov Harutiunyan, the leader of the Christian Democratic Party
(CDP), stated today that he is satisfied with the configuration
of the parliament set on May 12. "The elections opened a new page,
and the country took a new course of development. The constitutional
referendum provides a legal ground and the NA elections - a political
    ground for this assumption."

To remind, the CDP leader was running for the elections by the
majoritarian system at Precinct 10 and got 7000 votes.

According to him, elections were not flawless, though international
observers gave positive assessment. "The logic of the political
struggle has shifted from political confrontation to political
pluralism. There is a chance to turn these political achievements into
tangible results for the society." And according to him, the positive
evaluation of the international observers is a chance to rehabilitate
the international reputation of Armenia and its importance in the
region. It should be cherished, Khosrov Harutiunyan believes.

Nevertheless, it does not mean that the parliamentary corps will
be able to meet the expectations of the society, thinks the CDP
leader. The government should combat arbitrariness, corruption,
    protectionism.

Otherwise, the presidential election will not be the logical
continuation of the parliamentary election, Khosrov Harutiunyan thinks.

"I wish Shavarsh Kocharyan, the leader of the National Democratic
Party, were elected to the NA. Although with some exceptions, I don't
feel pity for other forces that were not elected to parliament. They
could not affect the quality of the political process.

Furthermore, the elections put an end to some quasi-political legends,"
    Khosrov Harutiunyan said.
