Today groups were chosen in the coming CIS soccer competition. The
participants were divided into four groups. The Armenian champion will
play in the fourth group (D), against Uzbekistan, Belarus, and Ukraine.
In group A, Russia, Moldova, Turkmenistan, and Estonia will play. Group
B consists of the champions of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Lithuania,
and Tajikistan.
Group C participants will be Latvia, Georgia, Serbia, and
Kirghizstan. The teams will play one round, after which those occupying
the first two places will continue in the playoffs.
Unlike other teams, our team's opponents are already known. Ukraine
will present "Shakhtyor," from Drnetski, while Belarus is represented
by the "Bate" team from Borisov. Most probably, the champion from
Uzbekistan will be "Pakhtakor," from Tashkent. As opposed to recent
competitions, this year's will be held in St. Petersburg, not in
Moscow.
