    CONSUMER PRICES GROW BY 3% IN OCTOBER 2007 ON DECEMBER 2006

    YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 1, NOYAN TAPAN. The rise in prices of butter,
    vegetable oil, bread and flour in October 2007 on December 2006
    contributed to the overall rise of 4.3% in consumer prices. Without
    the price changes of the indicated foodstuffs, the index of consumer
    prices would have made 98.7% in the indicated petriod instead of the
    registered index of 103%.

    According to the RA National Statistical Service, the inflation
    tendency, which was registered in the Armenian consumer market in
    September 2007, continued in October, with the overall two-month
    inflation making 3.8%.

    Consumer prices grew by 3.1% in October on September, including a 5.6%
    growth in food commodities (including alcoholic drinks and cigarettes),
    and a 0.7% growth in non-food commodities. A 0.1% growth of tariffs
    was registered in the service sector.

    The tendency of increasing bread, flour, butter and vegetable oil
    prices continued in the country. The inodicated products make up 13.91%
    of the consumer basket. Their overall inflation of 13.5% contributed to
    a 1.7% overall inflation of consumer prices in October 2007. Without
    price changes in the indicated foodstuffs, the index of consumer
    prices would have made 1.4% in Armenia in October on September 2007.

    The average monthly growth of consumer prices made 0.3% in
    January-October 2007, exceeding by 0.05% the respective index in the
    same period of last year (0.25%).

    The consumer price index made 105.7% in October 2007 on the same month
    of 2006, including the index of food commodities (including alcoholic
    drinks and cigarettes) - 109.2%, of non-food commodities - 99%, of
    service tariffs - 103.2%. The indices in January-October 2007 on the
    same months of 2006 made 103.9%, 105.2%, 99% and 104.4% respectively.
