Employees of "Hydroapparts" machine-building plant organized a
demonstration in front of the Government building today. The owners
demanded 35% of their shares. They complained that even though they
were the owners of the plant, they had never been invited to meetings,
did not know what the factory was producing and had never got their
part of the income. We should remind that the Government has sold 65
% of shares of the plant to "ArmRusGazArd" and the shareholders are
ignorant how the plant has been sold.
As the demonstrators mentioned this plant had unique equipments for
military industrial complexes during the Soviet period and produced
special orders.
According to the demonstrators, "today the equipments are sold;
the territory is sold or given for rent".
"We want our portion from the plant where we have been working for
many years, but our director denies us. We are more than 300 people
and we demand our shares", said the former head of the laboratory
Shushan Grigoryan.
Ashot Markosyan, Deputy Head of the Department of State Property
Management met the demonstrators and offered them to sell their
shares. But the demonstrators insisted that they would not sell their
shares and would fight for their rights.
The demonstrators sent a number of letters to various bodies about
8 months ago but no one answered to them.
They handed over a letter to the Prime Minister today.
