The results of a campaign to inform the public about their property
rights is the focus of a press conference organized by the OSCE Office
in Yerevan on Monday.

The press conference will summarize the results of the information
campaign launched in May 2007 to inform the public about the latest
developments in the area of property rights protection and highlight
the most effective mechanisms of promotion and protection of these
rights. In particular, the conference will focus on cases referred
to the European Court of Human Rights, and on the approach of state
authorities to the new sites slated for demolition.

The speakers include: Sedrak Baghdasaryan, Chairman of local
non-governmental organization, Victims of State Needs in the Protection
of Democracy; lawyer Artur Grigoryan; Vachagan Hakobyan, Head of
NGO Protection of Property Rights; Larisa Alaverdyan, Deputy of the
National Assembly and Executive Director of NGO Fund Against Violation
of Law; Avetik Ishkhanyan, Chairman of the Armenian Helsinki Committee;
and Silvia Pogolsa, Human Rights Officer at the OSCE Office in Yerevan.

The event is organized by the OSCE Office in Yerevan and NGO Victims
of State Needs in the Protection of Democracy.
