Serzh Sargsyan: Color revolutions ruled out in Armenia

    2007-11-10 23:32:00

ArmInfo. "The key goal of a candidate from power is to explain the
meaning of programs of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) to the
Armenian citizens, as well as to show our idea of Armenia's future,"
Armenian Prime Minister, RPA Leader Serzh Sargsyan told journalists
after the 11th congress of the RPA, Saturday.

According to him, color revolutions are ruled out in Armenia. "We made
our revolutions long ago," he said. S.Sargsyan stressed that
presidential elections are just an opportunity, not sports. "I don't
consider anybody my opponent. We should present our opportunities to
our voter people, and not fight against anybody". He also noted that
the RPA's team is very strong due to its ideology and path. "One
shouldn't cast the skin in politics. People can't justify their immoral
deeds and then say that politics is an amoral phenomenon. One can't be
moral in everyday life and immoral in politics," emphasized S.Sargsyan.

The RPA leader thinks that the Republicans have one advantage: "We know
perfectly how our motherland Armenia should be in the future". Asked
whether current president Robert Kocharyan will become the prime
minister of Armenia, S.Sargsyan replied: "I don't think that the
current prime minister should comment upon the future of the country's
    president".
