ArmInfo. "Perpetuation of the Armenian terrorist's name in France
negatively affects the public rating of this country", member of the
Azerbaijan- France Friendship Interparliamentary Group Azay Guliyev
    told the "Trend".

He said that "France, being the OSCE MG co-chair, should not perpetuate
the separatist's name". As the Agency reports, "In order to perpetuate
the name of Monte Melkonyan, who took part in occupation of the
Azerbaijani lands, a ceremony dedicated to opening of a commemorative
plaque in the house where he lived, was held on November 10 in the
French town of Clamart. A native of California, Monte Melkonyan, who
arrived in Nagorno Karabakh in 1991, participated in invasive combat
actions against Azerbaijan. He was killed on June 12, 1993, in one of
the fights in the territory of Azerbaijan's Aghdam region". A. Guliyev
said that "being a mediator in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, France
should not support the separatists". He thinks that "such a position
weakens the public trust to France and brings to not the hope for
official Paris. Armenia occupied 20% of Azerbaijan's territory -
Nagorno Karabakh and 7 surrounding regions".
