Conference of the Schools of Political Studies: "Opportunities and
challenges for regional co-operation"
Strasbourg, 30.10.2007 - The Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence will
host a conference of the Council of Europe's Schools of Political
Studies on 3 November as part of the Serbian chairmanship of the
Committee of Ministers and with the support of the Finnish government.
The conference, which will focus on co-operation in the Balkans and in
the Black Sea Region, will bring together nearly 100 participants from
the 16 Schools of Political Studies in Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan,
Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, "the former
Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia", Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Russia,
Serbia, Kosovo/UNMIK and Ukraine.
The conference will be open by Vuk Jeremic, Serbian Foreign Minister and
current Chairman of the Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers, and
Kari Veijalainen, the Finnish ambassador in Belgrade.
On 4 November there will be a meeting of School Directors in order to
prepare the Summer University for Democracy which will be held in
Strasbourg from 30 June to 4 July 2008.

Comité des Ministres, et avec le soutien du gouvernement finlandais,
la Fondation pour l'excellence politique de Belgrade organise le 3
novembre une Conférence des Ecoles d'études politiques du Conseil de
l'Europe.
La Conférence sera consacrée à la coopération dans les Balkans
et dans la région de la mer Noire et réunira près de 100
participants des 16 Ecoles d'études politiques : d'Albanie, Arménie,
Azerbaïdjan, Bélarus, Bosnie-Herzégovine, Bulgarie, Croatie,
Géorgie, "l'ex-République yougoslave de Macédoine", Moldova,
Monténégro, Roumanie, Russie, Serbie, Kosovo/MINUK et Ukraine.
La Conférence sera ouverte par Vuk Jeremic, Ministre des Affaires
étrangères de Serbie, Président en exercice du Comité des
Ministres du Conseil de l'Europe, et Kari Veijalainen, Ambassadeur de
Finlande à Belgrade.
Le lendemain, 4 novembre, se tiendra la réunion des Directeurs des
écoles, destinée à préparer la prochaine Université d'été
de la Démocratie qui se tiendra à Strasbourg du 30 juin au 4 juillet
2008.
