MTS PRESIDENT DESCRIBED AS "QUITE PROBABLE" THE DEAL ON PURCHASING VIVACELL

Yerevan, September 5 /Mediamax/. President of the Russian MTS mobile
operator Leonid Melamed confirmed that the company is holding talks
on the purchase of the Armenian VivaCell operator.
As the Russian newspapers report, Leonid Melamed said this on September
4 after the session of the Board of Directors of MTS, during which the
renewed strategy of development of the company was being considered.
Leonid Melamed stated that the talks with VivaCell are not yet
concluded, noting at that that the deal on purchasing the company is
"quite probable".
