YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 7, NOYAN TAPAN. "80% of probable candidates for
2008 Armenian presidential elections is guided by orders from outside,
because of which the opposition will have no common candidate." Tigran
Karapetian, the Chairman of the People's Party, gave assurance at the
September 7 meeting with journalists. According to him, if independent
parties consolidate around the idea of a common candidate, it is not
excluded that the People's Party will cooperate with them.

Alexan Karapetian, the Vice-Chairman of the National Unity Party,
stated that we should involve RA President Robert Kocharian and Prime
Minister Serge Sargsian in meetings and discussions of opposition
political parties to take Armenia out of the crisis.
