ARMENIA TO IGNORE U.N. DEBATES ON 'FROZEN' CONFLICTS

    ARMENPRESS
    Sep 11, 2007

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 11, ARMENPRESS: A spokesman for Armenian foreign
ministry said Armenia will not react in any way to two motions,
included in the UN General Assembly's 62-nd session, which are supposed
to be put to debate on September 25.

The spokesman, Vladimir Karapetian, said one motion was submitted
by Azerbaijan and the other by GUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan
and Moldova). Both are related to so-the called 'frozen' post-Soviet
    conflicts.

Vladimir Karapetian said Armenia will ignore both motions because
it does believe there is no need to discuss these issues at the UN
    General Assembly's session.

Both motions were included originally in the previous 61-st session,
but were not discussed and were incorporated into the new session's
    agenda.

Earlier Armenia's permanent representative to the UN, Armen
Martirosian, said the countries which are well aware of the true
reasons behind the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict find that politicization
of this issue may jeopardize the ongoing talks handled by the OSCE
    Minsk Group.
