VIMPELCOM TO INVEST 90 M DOLLARS IN ARMENTEL

In 2007 Vimpelcom, the owner of Armentel, will invest 90 million
dollars in Armentel, Dmitri Pleskonos, member of the board of the
Vimpelcom company, told reporters. The investment aims to improve
the quality of communication inside Armenia, as well as the quality
of Armenia-Russia communication, Pleskonos said. He also said in
the second quarter of 2007 Armentel's income totaled 58.35 million
dollars, including 23.14 million from mobile telephone, and 35.21
million dollars on fixed-line telephone.
