VIENNA TO HOST IRANOLOGY CONFAB

The Austrian Academy of Sciences is to host 'the 6th European
Conference of Iranian Studies' at the international center of Iranian
studies.
During the event slated for September 18 to 22, the Austrian Academy
of Sciences will play host to approximately 90 Iranian experts and
over 200 experts from other countries.
The program will deal with various topics on Iran including history,
linguistics and philology, culture and social anthropology, archaeology
and history of art, and science of religion.
The appearance of over 90 Iranian experts and scholars will provide
the European Conference of Iranian Studies with a pleasing discussion,
said Bert Fragner, the director of the Institute for Iranian studies
at the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
Other participants will mainly come from the USA, Europe, China,
Georgia, Armenia, Tajikistan and Japan.
'Tradition and modernity in Iranian culture' is the main theme of
the international event which takes place every four years.
