ICE AGE PROGRAM ON RUSSIAN CHANNEL ORT PRESENTS TOFIG GULIYEV'S SONG AS AN ARMENIAN SONG

"Ice age" program in the framework of the project "Stars on Ice" on
Russian TV channel ORT presented the song "Sene de galmaz" composed by
Tofig Guliyev as an Armenian song on September 15. Aytan Ismikhanova
said that Sovelyeva - Sakhlavski pair danced to the song "Sene de
galmaz" by Tofig Guliyev.
"Their trainers, Julin and presenters, figure skaters Marat Basharov
and Irina Slutskaya presented the song as an Armenian song. They even
asked them why they chose an Armenian dance. One of the dancers said
this is a very splendid song and he likes it very much.
"We thought we could dance to the tune," they said.
"I call on the related organizations to deal with this problem and
send an official protest letter to ORT leadership and organizers of
the project. They misappropriated Gara Gaaryev's songs and now do
the same with Tofig Guliyev's songs," Aytan Ismikhanova said.
Spokesman for Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Khazar Ibrahim underlined
that Azerbaijan will express its protest concerning the problem. The
spokesman said that the debates will show what body will make
protest.
