ITALIANS TO HELP IN EUROPEAN INTEGRATION

Today Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan received a delegation led by
Roberto Ranieri, former secretary of foreign affairs in Italy and
chairman of the foreign affairs committee of the Italian parliament.
As informed by the foreign ministry's press service, the minister
is satisfied with relations between Armenia and Italy. He placed
importance on results achieved through the "Politics of Europe's
neighbors" program, placing emphasis on advances made in Armenia's
rural areas.
Oskanyan then presented the basic direction of his country's foreign
policy, Armenia's relations with its neighbors, the status of talks
concerning the Karabakh conflict, and Armenia's position relating to
improving Armenian-Turkish relations, including Armenia's position
concerning Turkey's entrance into the European Union.
In turn, Ranieri presented the purposes of his visit to Armenia,
which is to assist Armenia's leaning towards Europe and integration
into European structures.
