TER-PETROSYAN WILL COME WITH A NEW TEAM

    Lragir, Armenia
    Sept 26 2007

Those who think the nomination of Levon Ter-Petrosyan is an insinuation
should change the opinion because the nomination is "irreversible". The
head of the board of the All-Armenian Movement Ararat Zurabyan made
this statement on September 26 at the Hayatsk press club.

"Levon Ter-Petrosyan's nomination is irreversible, that is he will be
nominated by all means. Naturally, this is my inner belief because
the founder of the party said he has made no final decision, but I
think everything leads to such a decision, and now a new situation
    will occur," Ararat Zurabyan says.

According to him, Ter-Petrosyan's address on September 21 alarmed
the government camp. Evidence to this, according to Ararat Zurabyan,
is the total attack of the propaganda machine of the government on
Ter-Petrosyan. In addition, he says, "the level of the attack is
below the sideboard." Ararat Zurabyan says a serious opposition pole
will form around Ter-Petrosyan. "Indeed, it is desirable to have an
ideological pole but I think it will be extended because currently
Armenia is facing greater problems, and I think it would be wrong to be
confined to an ideological pole. Certainly, time will make corrections,
and I think it will take one or two months," Ararat Zurabyan says.

He agrees that Ter-Petrosyan's team may include importunate people.

However, Ararat Zurabyan also said if Ter-Petrosyan is nominated,
many will defect from the government to Ter-Petrosyan's team. The
head of the board of the All-Armenian Movement says those are decent
people who appeared in the government due to some circumstances and
could appear in the team of the first president. Ararat Zurabyan even
tells a story without mentioning the name of an official who offered
him "to go somewhere and have a talk at 2-3 o'clock at night".

Ararat Zurabyan declines to mention names why one person or another
from Ter-Petrosyan's former team are not beside him, or why and who are
those new people. "We told an important thing that Levon Ter-Petrosyan
must come with a new team. The team must include people who will
not defame the team which will be involved in the pre-election and
post-election processes. And each can evaluate one person or another
in their way, I would not like to express my opinion. I also think
each political team decides for themselves what role each should
perform in this process," Ararat Zurabyan says.
