ATTEMPTED MURDER ON ABKHAZIA'S VICE PRESIDENT

    Tert.am
    23.09.10

An attempted murder on Abkhazia's Vice President Alexander Ankvab
    took place tonight.

At about 2 a.m. Yerevan time somebody fired on his house, supposedly
    from a grenade launcher.

According to Moscow Times, Mr. Ankvab was injured. First aid was
rendered to him, but he refused from being taken to hospital.

    An investigation is underway.

This is already the third attempted murder on the Abkhaz Vice
President. None of them has been detected yet.

Abkhazia used to be part of Georgia but separated from it in 2008 after
a war between Georgia, on one side, and South Ossetia and Abkhazia,
    on the other.

Four countries have already recognized Abkhazia's (South Ossetia's)
independence, including Russia, who supported Abkhazia in this war.
