WORKSHOP IN TOKYO ON "UNDISCOVERED ARMENIA: ECONOMIC COOPERATION AND INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES"

A workshop on "Undiscovered Armenia: Economic Cooperation and
Investment Opportunities" was held in Tokyo on April 25, Press and
Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
The conference was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
of Japan, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Japan
External Trade Organization (JETRO) with the support of the Japan
Association for Trade with Russia and Newly Independent States
(ROTOBO). It was dedicated to the economic situation in Armenia,
the business atmosphere in the country, the business culture and the
investment policy implemented by RA government.
The event featured representatives of more than 50 large Japanese
companies, including Toyota, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Kawasaki, Sumitomo,
Mizuho, Marubeni, Itochu, Sojitsu.
Opening remarks were offered by ROTOBO Vice-President Akira Haruta and
Adviser at the Armenian Embassy Hrant Poghosyan. The later referred
to the economic cooperation between Armenia and Japan and dwelt on
the perspectives of expansion of business ties and implementation of
joint programs.
