YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 19, ARMENPRESS: Armenian-Turkish border is open
from Armenian part: yet Turkey continues to keep it closed. Turkish
Government holds pragmatic approaches pertain to border opening issue,
whether Azerbaijani authorities in a bad sense have their impact.
In the briefing with Armenpress, Turkish lawyer, writer and human
rights defender Fethiye Cetin stated she is optimistic about the
possible opening of borders. ''I dream one day the people of two
countries break the barriers'' Cetin noted. Turkish Government
continues to conceal Armenian Genocide facts and holds denial
policy.''Due to similar policy Turkish people will continue to deny
the undeniable. Though I consider they have already learnt that policy
will not lead to desirable results and had to undertake some steps. A
state power, will still hinders them to recognize Armenian Genocide''
Cetin stated.
Dwelling on the issue how she manages to reconcile two identities
namely Armenian and Turkish the writer was quoted as saying.'' I had
more than two identities. I am a citizen of the world. Whenever any
racist attack occurs in any corner of the world it hurts my identity''
our compatriot confessed.
A recounting of her grandmother's story in the memoir entitled My
Grandmother brought her fame. She is pondering about writing a new
book yet her business forced her quit it. She was not able to finish
it.In her capacity as a lawyer, Cetin has represented the family of
murdered Turkish-Armenian newspaper editor Hrant Dink.
