PanARMENIAN.Net - President Serzh Sargsyan attended the opening of
DigiTec Expo 2013 exhibit to last through October 6.

The exhibit is expected to welcome 150 participating companies (up

Enterprise Incubator Foundation, Yerevan Telecommunication Research
    Institute, American University of Armenia.

The Expo participants will present the latest innovative products
and systems, engineering and high-tech solutions, mobile solutions,
    and software.

The main goal of the ninth international technological expo is to
create favorable communication platform for high-tech companies,
business customers and society. The expo gives an opportunity to access
current situation in the sectors of information and communication
technologies and high-tech (ICT/HT), as well as see current challenges
    and opportunities.

DigiTec Expo is organized every autumn in Yerevan under the patronage
of the Prime Minister of Armenia. The organizer of the expo is the
Union of Information Technology Enterprises, with GNC-ALFA CJSC
(Rostelecom brandname) and Questrade International Inc. as sponsors.

In a conversation with PanARMENIAN.Net reporter Synopsys Armenia
executive director Hovik Musaelyan noted participation of several
start-up companies as a positive sign, with the tendency creating
foundation for further development of IT sector.

The Synergy International Systems Monitoring & Evaluation Department
Director David Kocharov in turn, noted that at DigiTec, the company
exhibited IDM7 platform meant for the use of solutions for budget
planning and monitoring of state investments. As he noted, the product
is used in 50 countries worldwide to facilitate the work of the
ministries of finance and economy in long-term development projects.

"Currently, implementation of the product is negotiated with the
    Armenian government," he said.

DigiTec Expo 2013 opening was followed by the launch of ArmTech
Congress, with Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan stressing a number of
achievements of the IT sector as well as current challenges faced.

"With 7000 experts employed in the IT sector, its annual growth
amounts to 15-20% growth, which arises a need for 2000 skilled
experts annually. Education centers of international organizations
and major companies like Microsoft and IBM are greatly contributing
to improvement of education quality in the sector," the official said.

As he noted, as Armenia's IT sector enters new level of development,
new possibilities are to be yet discovered, with design and engineering
    of microchips among them.

"Armenia has a 5% world market share in the design and engineering
of microchips," the official said urging experts to focus on this
    specific direction.

The annual ArmTech Congress is the official global Armenian high tech
industry and business conference and networking platform to discuss,
plan, and execute policies to promote IT industry development and
increase global recognition of Armenia as one of the fastest growing
    high tech destinations.

ArmTech Congress was founded by industry and business professionals
in 2007 to foster professional growth in the worldwide Armenian
high-tech community, and promote the growth of Armenia's rapidly
    rising high-tech industry.

ArmTech Congress was the first Armenian high-tech conference held in
