I have my old city sedan, a Toyota Camry. It’s fine for getting around in New York City, but I want to drive to Boston to visit my parents instead of taking the usual train. I’m worried, though, that the car might break down somewhere along the way. For those with experience on such trips, would you say it’s worth the risk, or is it better to rent a more reliable car?

Is it worth driving to Boston in a regular sedan?

An old Camry gives you about a 70% chance that you won’t make it to Boston. And even if you do, remember you still have to drive back. Then the odds jump to 99% that you’ll be getting home on a tow truck, which isn’t cheap at all. It’s definitely better to pay for a rental car in NYC. Take a crossover and drive to visit your parents. You can find out where to get a car for long trips here: https://buffalonews.com/exclusive/ar...a1b50db05.html . As a bonus, you’ll also learn what’s worth seeing along the way.
