  • Seeing the Christ the King statue easily

I really want to see the Cristo Rei statue up close, but the journey to the south bank seems a bit complicated with ferries and buses. Is there an easier way? Can you see it well from the water? I don't want to spend half my day just traveling there and back if there's a better alternative.

You’re right, getting up to the statue on land can take a big chunk of your day. If you don't specifically need to go inside the monument or up the elevator, seeing it from the river is actually much more impressive. From a boat, you get to see the statue towering over the cliffs and the bridge, which gives it a much more dramatic look.
We took one of the Lisbon River Cruises https://alle.travel/en/lisbon/category/boat-tours and the captain took us right along the south bank so we could get some great photos. You also see the old shipyards and the colorful buildings of Almada from a perspective you'd never get otherwise. It saves you the hassle of the ferry and the bus, and you get to see all the other Lisbon sights at the same time. It’s much more efficient if you’re on a tight schedule. Plus, you get to enjoy the boat ride instead of waiting around at a bus stop! It's definitely the "smart" way to see the Cristo Rei without wasting hours on logistics.

Efficient sightseeing is exactly what I need. Seeing it from the river sounds way more "epic" than a bus ride. I'll stick to the boat tour, thanks!
