Armenian boxers may refuse to participate in Baku Games, should the
flame of the Games be lit by Ramil Safarov, President of the Boxing
Federation of Armenia Arthur Gevorgyan has said.

He hopes, however, that Azerbaijan will review its stance, and will
    separate politics from sports.

"According to most recent information, Ramil Safarov will be the one
to light the flame in General's uniform. In this case the Armenian
national team will not participate in the event. If they change their
approaches, we'll participate and succeed," he said.

"I want our tricolor to fly and our anthem to play in Baku. There
can be no better revenge," Gevorgyan said.

The boxers to represent Armenia at the inaugural European Games will
be chosen as a result of the recent Armenian Boxing Championship. The
Federation chief is satisfied with the results of the championship.

"No boxer disappointed me," he said.

The most famous Armenian boxer, Arthur Abraham, who was present at the
championship, noted that "our boxers are able to win medals in Baku,"
although he does not welcome the decision to participate in the games.
