IRAN, ARMENIA TO SIGN NEW OIL CONTRACT

Iran and Armenia are to sign a contract on the export of oil and
some oil products, including petrol, to Armenia. The contract is to
be signed in Tehran on 28 February, Mehr news agency reported on the
same day.
"Based on this new contract, Iran will satisfy part of Armenia's needs
in oil products such as petrol, diesel fuel, kerosene, and jet fuel,"
the agency reported.
"Iranian and Armenian officials have frequently discussed the
establishment of an oil terminal on the Iran-Armenia border in order to
increase the amount of trade in oil products between them," Mehr added.
Mehr also pointed out that Iran produced about 50m litres of petrol
and 100m litres of diesel fuel per day and earned about 9bn dollars
from exporting oil products last year.
