Harutyun Khachatryan's film Sahman (`Border') won Best Film Director
in the 18th Kinoshok Open Festival. The festival featured films from
the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Baltic countries,
and took place in the Russian city of Anapa from September 13`20. The
Russian paper Commersant even wrote that `the jury didn't dare to
award the buffalo cow for the best feminine role.'

Italian and Slovenian film critics called Sahman `the year's best
film' and granted the Darko Bratina Award to the film, which is
annually granted to a filmmakes who covers historical and social
    issues, and intercultural communication.

Starting from today, Khachatryan's seven films will be shown
retrospectively in Montevideo, Uruguay. The films were screened in
Moscow in June, and will be screened in Georgia in December during the
Tbilisi 10th International Film Festival, held from December 1`6.

Sahman will be shown in a number of festivals, including award
programs, in Romania, Hamburg, Antalya (Turkey), Batumi, Warsaw, Busan
    (South Korea), and Tokyo.
