ARMENIAN POLITICAL PARTIES' POPULARITY: PUBLIC OPINION POLL

YEREVAN. - The Republican Party of Armenia proved to have the largest
rating with the support of 27 percent of respondents according to
public opinion poll conducted on June, said the chairman of Armenian
Sociological Association Gevorg Poghosyan.
According to him the opinion poll was held in Yerevan among 600
respondents. Poghosyan emphasized that the polls conducted three
months before the elections have exclusively scientific purposes and
have no essential affect upon the election process.
More than 19 percent of respondents stood for Prosperous Armenia
party. Three opposition parties- Armenian National Congress (7.5
percent), ARF Dashnaktsutyun (7.5 percent), and Heritage party (6
percent) fight for the rest places in top five.
Tigran Karapetyan's People's Party has the support of 4.2 percent of
respondents, Rule of Law Party has 4.1 percent.
