Despite cold winter, April in Yerevan and other regions of Armenia
will be warm and sunny. Air temperature may sometimes reach 30 degrees
Celsius above zero, Zaruhi Petrosyan, Head of the Center for Operative
Hydrometeorology at the Hydrometeoservice of the Ministry of Emergency
Situations of Armenia, told media, Thursday.

She said that March was the coldest for the last 50 years.

Temperature rose above zero 20 days later than usually. Nevertheless,
the weather will finally warm only after March 26, she said.

    Z. Petrosyan said that cold weather caused no serious damage to
agriculture. Despite 13% loss of grains, the crop will be above norm.

Heavy snow may result in floods especially in Shirak and Vayots Dzor
regions. Relevant services of the Emergency Situations Ministry have
already been alarmed. All the four largest water reservoirs in Armenia
will be filled up. Lake Sevan was fully frozen on March 2. No forecasts
have been made regarding the lake's thaw.

As for the weather for the coming days, Petrosyan said, temperature
will drop 4-5 degrees in average in the country and 5-7 degrees in
    mountainous areas.
