RADAR STATION UNDER CONSTRUCTION IN ARMENIA?

    Story from Lragir.am News:

Head of the Moscow-based analytical bureau Andrey Yepifancev made an
interesting statement in an interview with Regnum. He said that Russia
is already building the radar station in Armenia, Armavir region.

According to Yepifancev, the object in Armavir will fulfill the same
tasks of the Gabala station. "In this relation, the question whether
it is more expedient to have a radar station in Armenia or Azerbaijan,
    loses actuality", says the expert.

Is Russia really going to build the station in Armenia? What does
the Armenian society know about this and what the legislative base
    for the construction is?

Recall, on these days, Tigran Sargsyan proposed Russia to build
such a station in Armenia. He did not say anything about the already
    launched construction.

Armenian political forces have not reacted to Tigran Sargsyan's
statement, moreover, to the information that the station is already
under construction. In the meanwhile, if this information is confirmed
it can change the balance of power in the region. The point is not
about the construction of the station in Armenia, but about the fact
that Russia will definitely lose its positions in Azerbaijan. And
Armenia will remain the only country on which Russia may rely.

Armenia may just fail to stand such responsibility because it will
suppose for more binding relations with Russia. They are already
vassal, and if Armenia is definitely proclaimed Russia's outpost,
this may become the last drop. Now movements aimed at restoring
the sovereignty, which Armenia ceded to Russia in exchange for
security guarantees, is maturing in Armenia. There is even a party,
which included it in its programs. And tomorrow, if Russia tightens
the bits, they can simply break.
