KIEV. - A roundtable discussion devoted to the Armenian Genocide was
convened Friday in Kiev, Ukraine, Analitika.at.ua informs.

During the event, `ANALITIKA' Information-Analytical Center Director
    Marat Hakobyan specifically noted:

`When speaking about genocide, we do understand that Ukraine likewise
has its wounds; that is, the Holodomor [killing by hunger]. Hunger, as
means of killing, was first applied on the Armenians during the
Genocide. Aside from the open massacre, all possible means of
annihilation were used against the Armenians.

Had the Armenian Genocide deserved the appropriate assessment by the
international community at the time, neither the Holocaust nor the
Holodomor could have occurred, and neither the Armenian pogroms in
Sumgait, Baku, Maragha and in other cities of Azerbaijan at the end of
    the 20th century.

Genocide is the worst manifestation of human cruelty. The perpetrators
must be condemned, since impunity gives rise to repetition of the
    crime.'
