YEREVAN. - The unusual and longer winter of 2012 adversely affected
    Armenia's foreign trade balance.

According to the State Revenue Committee report, Armenia imported
782-million m3 of natural and liquid gas in the first three months
of this year, and this number surpasses last year's corresponding
    indicator by 119 million m3.

In line with the ArmRusGazprom Company's data, the natural gas
import was 619.4 million m3, which is a 16.4-percent increase than
    the year past.

Gas import is in first place among Armenia's foreign trade.

The customs value of the aforesaid imported natural and liquid gas
comprised US$ 166 million, as compared with the $124 million of the
    same time period in 2011.

Consequently, 1 m3 of imported gas valued at $212 in the first three
months of 2012, as compared with $187 of same time period last year.
