    YEREVAN

YEREVAN, June 8, /ARKA/. Gagik Movsisyan, head of a department
of the South Caucasus Railways (SCR) company operating Armenia's
railroads, said today the cost of tickets for passenger trains
travelling between Armenian capital Yerevan and Batumi, a popular
sea resort on the Black Sea coast of neighbouring Georgia, have not
been revised upward. The prices are effective for all trains that
will take Armenian holidaymakers to Georgia until September 30.

The prices of tickets will range from 10,000 drams to 24,000 drams
depending on the type of compartment. He said the train will have
this year a compartment for VIP clients that will cost 370,000 drams.

He said last year the trains transported around 43,000 people. The
train will leave Yerevan daily at 3,15 pm and the travel will take
    16 hours.

The South Caucasus Railways is run by Russian Railways. The
concessional agreement was concluded in 2008 for 30 years, with a
right of extension for another 20 years after the first 20 years of
    operation. ($1 - 413.24 drams).
