    STATEMENT ON KARABAKH AT G-20

    Voice of Russia
    June 19 2012

The presidents of Russia, the United States and France expressed
regret that the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia have not taken
decisive steps to resolve the Karabakh conflict.

They urged the parties to accelerate harmonizing the basic principles
for resolving the problem. This was said in a joint statement adopted
    at the G-20 Summit.

Russia, the U.S. and France co-chair of OSCE Minsk Group on the
    Karabakh settlement.

The statement noted that Moscow, Washington and Paris were united in
a firm commitment to finding a peaceful settlement for the Karabakh
    conflict.

"The parties in the conflict should not continue to postpone important
decisions needed to achieve a lasting and peaceful settlement", -
    reads the document.

The parties also urged refraining from maximalist negotiating
positions, to observe the cease-fire of 1994 and to avoid hostile
    rhetoric.
