Erdogan: There is No Kurdish Issue in Turkey any more
    September 1, 2012

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that there was no
Kurdish issue in Turkey any more.

We have overcome this issue, added Erdogan who spoke to private
    Kanalturk TV on Friday.

Erdogan said that there was currently a terrorism issue in Turkey,
adding that they would continue to do their best to solve the issue.

Noting that the state was providing the same service both in western
and eastern regions of the country, Erdogan said that it was PKK
terrorist organization which was trying to prevent the services in
    eastern regions.
When asked what was the priority along Turkey-Syria border --a no-fly
zone or a buffer zone, Erdogan said that no-fly zone and buffer zone
    were each other's complementary.

You can't declare a region buffer zone without declaring it a no-fly
zone first. That is a serious risk. UN Security Council should adopt
such a resolution. We don't take such a step before the Council adopts
the resolution. The region should be declared a no-fly zone first, and
then we can take a step for a buffer zone, said Erdogan.

He noted that there were currently more than 80,000 Syrian citizens
    staying in Turkey.
