Russian DM: Armenia will be given some 10 facilities of 102nd Russian
military unit

Russia is reorganizing its military facilities. As a result, some 10
facilities of the 102nd military unit will be given to Armenia,
Russia's Defense Minister Anatoliy Serdyukov said during a joint
briefing with Armenia's DM Seyran Ohanyan on Wednesday.
"During our meeting today we discussed questions concerning the
maintenance of the unit, our military-technical and military
agreements and cooperation program for 2012," the Russian DM said.
He said that Armenia and Russia are strategic partners and friends and
enjoy the highest possible level of military and other cooperation.
"We are executing the tasks set by our presidents," Serdyukov said.
As regards the "Interaction 2012" exercises of the CSTO Collective
Rapid Response Forces, Serdyukov stressed that the goal of the
exercises was successfully attained, though it is early to speak of
the results in general. His Armenian counterpart Seyran Ohanyan
stressed that the given visit of the Russian Defense Minister will
give a fresh impetus to the Armenian-Russian cooperation. ''The talks
covered a wide range of issues, including regional, international and
military ones, as well as a number of issues concerning the 102nd
Russian military base in Armenia'', Ohanyan said. To note, the
exercises of the CSTO Collective Rapid Response Forces were held in
Armenia on September 15-19 at the Marshall Baghramyan shooting range
under the command of Maj.-Gen. Kamo Kochunts. Nearly 2,000 people from
Armenia and other CSTO member states were involved in the exercises.
