Azerbaijan's Defense Minister Safar Abiyev and the US Deputy
Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Asia Matthew Bryza
discussed prospects for military cooperation between Azerbaijan and
the USA. Problems of the Gabala radar station, energy security, and
the military political situation in the region were also touched on.
Touching on the Karabakh conflict, Safar Abiyev said that Azerbaijan
has a right to liberate the occupied territories by force. Bryza
confirmed that the USA supports Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, and
shares the position regarding returning of the occupied territories.
