ARMENIAN NA SPEAKER YEAR'S BEST EUROPEAN IN ARMENIA

YEREVAN, May 2. /ARKA/. The Council of the European Movement in
Armenia has recognized Speaker of the RA Parliament Tigran Torosyan
Year's Best European in Armenia.
The Council's press service reports that this title was conferred on
Speaker Torosyan for his efforts toward development and consolidation
of Armenia's relations with other countries and organizations.
The award "For European constitution of year" was given to Assistance
to the RA President Vigen Sargsyan for the organization of the Year
of Armenia in France, the program team, Armenian-European Policy
and Legal Advice Center (AEPLAC), represented by President of the
AEPLAC Armenian office Tigran Jrbashyan for an important role in
establishing closer relations with Europe. The award was also given to
the "Great Valley" Company for its contribution to the intensification
of Armenian-European economic relations.
The awarding ceremony is to be held in Yerevan on May 3, as part of
the events ion the threshold of celebrations of the Days of Europe
in Armenia on May 9, 2007.
Last year, Artur Baghdasaryan, Speaker of the RA Parliament (2003-2006)
was recognized Year's Best European along with the "Parisyan Surj"
and "Kanaka" companies, as well as "Kilikia" sailor.
A number of important events are traditionally held in a number of
countries as part of Day of Europe. The prizes Best European of the
Year and Best European Contribution of the Yearare awarded in three
categories - Politics, Economy and Culture.
