AZERI OFFICIAL, HEAD OF IRANIAN AID AGENCY DISCUSS TIES WITH ARMENIA

The first deputy speaker of the Milli Maclis, Ziyafat Asgarov, today
received a delegation led by the head of Iran's Imam Khomeyni Relief
Committee international humanitarian organization, Hoseyn Anvari,
who is visiting Azerbaijan. The first deputy speaker recalled that
the committee had allocated 33m dollars in aid for the displaced
Azerbaijanis so far and thanked the Iranian guests for this.
Asgarov regarded it as important that members of the Organization of
the Islamic Conference, including Iran, reconsider their ties with
Armenia. Anvari stressed that they considered the problems Azerbaijan
faced in connection with the Nagornyy Karabakh conflict to be their
own problems.
