Gas price to rise from October

The price of Russian gas supplied to Armenia will rise from October 1
of the current year, `Haykakan Zhamanak' daily [Armenian time] informs
citing a source close to Russian GazProm. Thus, 1000c/m gas will cost
280USD on RA border.
According to the same sources, gas will already cost 320USD starting
from January 1, 2013. Presently, the Armenian side is negotiating with
GazProm to prevent price rise or at least big rise.
But in the first phase of the negotiations it was not succeeded to
reach such an agreement. The talks still continue, but there is little
optimistic perspective for them.
According to official data, presently GazProm supplies gas at 180USD
for 1000c/m, and according to the data published by RA customs service
-at 220USD for 1000c/m. If the price of gas rises for Armenia, it will
rise for Armenia's consumers at least by the same amount.
