YEREVAN, JULY 18, ARMENPRESS: The President of the Republic of Armenia
Serzh Sargsyan received Vice President and Head of Environmental
Protection Organization of Iran, Mohammad-Javad Mohammadizadeh.
As Presidential press office briefed Armenpress, the interlocutors
underlined that the cooperation between Armenia and Iran continues
to develop in an atmosphere of mutual trust and currently the launch
of major projects in the agenda of bilateral relations is dictated
by the time, which is of mutual interest to the both countries.
In the course of the meeting the sides stressed the importance
of cooperation between Islamic Republic of Iran environmental
organizations and that of Armenia in the form of detection of
environmental problems, investigation and resolution of the necessity
of deepening cooperation in environmental issues.
In the words of the officials the solution of environmental issues
is of high importance for all the countries in the region. Those
bordeing states should make the use of water resources in the border
areas efficiently, fight against water pollution and the environment,
follow the environmental rules.
President Sargsyan and Vice President and Head of Environmental
Protection Organization of Iran, Mohammad-Javad Mohammadizadeh touched
upon the joint monitoring issues pertain to Araks river water supply
use, the idea of establishment "Garden of Peace and Friendship"
under the protection of two sides and reportedly a number of other
issues of mutual interest.
