YEREVAN. - Number nine of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP)
proportional list Hmayak Hovhannisyan considers he has no right to
quit the party unless there are serious reasons, he told Armenian
News-NEWS.am adding he is not a member of the PAP.
Hovhannisyan believes that the party leader Gagik Tsarukyan will
solve the issue of forming a coalition based on goals and tasks.
Asked whether Hovhannisyan will quit the party if Tsarukyan forms
a group the goal and task of which he is opposed to, the politician
said that it is better not make some statements ahead of time as the
issue is still under discussion. Besides, he is responsible for the
PAP and Tsarukyan, he emphasized.
Earlier the agency reported that media outlets are circulating rumors
saying PAP is divided into two parts on possible coalition with the
Republican Party. One part, supporting the Armenian second President
Robert Kocharyan is against the coalition, while other members backing
incumbent PAP head Tsarukyan, want to form a coalition.
