Elections are more test for civil society, says Heritage rep.

Any election is a test for the civil society rather than the
authorities, Larisa Alaverdyan, a member the opposition Heritage
party, has said.

At a news conference on Saturday, the former lawmaker expressed hope
that the recent polls would mark the end of vote riggings, as well as
the society's naivety.

`In the recent years, we saw elections making interesting revelations
for the opposition,' she said.

Alaverdyan noted that the legislative today lacks representatives
really enjoying the voters' support. She said further the political
stance of a candidate or party cannot conflict with the methods they
chose for being elected to parliament.

`I don't think it's a good way. And not only for individuals but also
the political forces,' she said, refraining from giving any names.

`If you bring a good team - be it with excellent personalities - you
can no longer enjoy the same degree trust as before if you have failed
to work properly for the public,' she said.
