VAZGEN SAFARYAN: ARMENIA'S POLITICAL PARTIES REMEMBER ABOUT THE NEED TO CREATE NEW JOBS ONLY DURING ELECTIONS

All of us are on the same ship and our political parties have no right
to shake it as strong as to sink it, President of the Union of Native
Producers of Armenia Vazgen Safaryan told journalists on Wednesday.

"Our Government should consist of professionals, while our political
parties should serve our people," Safaryan said.

He believes that the new parliament is obliged to adopt a law
stimulating the development of both industry and agriculture. "This
will foster economic growth and will curb migration. As regards the
President's promise to create new jobs, I think that the key task of
the Government must be to raise wages," Safaryan said.

He regrets that the authorities remember the need to create new
jobs only during elections. "I think that the constitutional article
saying that each citizen shall have the right to choose a job must
be replaced by an article obliging the Government to provide each
citizen with a job," Safaryan said.

He said that his Union cannot force the Government to keep its
promises but it can influence the public opinion. "I am not among
those who voted for the Republicans' electoral slogan 'Let's Believe
in Change.' I voted for the Communists as some of our programs are
being put into practice," Safaryan said.
